The Bridger-Teton National Forest is soliciting public comment to administrative changes in the monitoring program of the 1990 Land and Resource Management Plan, also known simply as the “Forest Plan.” Each Forest Plan monitoring program must contain monitoring questions addressing a variety of requirements. The purpose of these questions is to evaluate if the Forest Plan components are effective and appropriate, and whether the management is effective in maintaining or achieving progress toward desired conditions and outcomes. After the most recent Biennial Report, there were several issues or concerns that these proposed changes intend to address with the goal of accurately assessing the conditions and management practices across the forest. A list of the proposed changes can be found at fs.usda.gov/main/btnf/landmanagement/planning.
