After authorization by the US Food and Drug Administration and the recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on October 21st, booster doses for the Moderna and the J&J COVID-19 vaccines are now available at the Teton County Health Department’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
The booster dose for the Moderna vaccine was approved at half the dose of the first two doses of the vaccine. As a reminder, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster was approved by the CDC on September 23rd. In addition to the approval of booster doses, eligible individuals can now choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Individuals who are immunocompromised and received their 1st and 2nd dose of either the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine or the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to receive an additional full third dose of the same vaccine type based on the CDC recommendation made on August 13th.
Those wishing a booster shot should or call the Health Department’s Call Center at 307-732-8628.
