Eastern Idaho Public Health has announced that vaccine administration is continuing to successfully roll out in that health district. Providers are in the process of completing Priority Group 1, which is healthcare providers and residents of long-term care facilities not affiliated with the Pharmacy Partnership for Long Term Care program. Governor Brad Little announced earlier this week that the next priority group, 2.1 for vaccination, which is frontline essential workers and adults 65 years of age and older is to be administered now. Frontline essential workers are categorized to include first responders, pre-k to 12th grade school staff and teachers, childcare workers, and correctional and detention facility staff. Frontline essential worker vaccinations commenced on January 12thand are being coordinated through employers as well as individual vaccination appointments at health department offices. Vaccination for older adults are set to start in early February.
