Starting today, local companies in Jackson Hole are volunteering to enhance road safety on Wyoming State Highway 390 by clearing brush and trees, aiming to reduce moose and vehicle accidents amid rising concerns.
Project Details and Timeline
Aardvark Excavation, Feuz Excavation, VH Builders, and Western States Cat Rental will donate time, equipment, and materials to trim vegetation along WYO 390 (Village Road) from Stilson parking to Aspens subdivision. Work begins December 4th and lasts 3–4 days during daylight hours, weather permitting.

Clearing Scope and Pathway Closure
Crews will remove brush, willows, small trees, and low limbs, potentially beyond 25 feet from the fog line, to improve sight distance. The pathway closes for safety during operations. For similar safety initiatives, see this Jackson Hole Radio story on wildlife corridor protections.
Addressing Moose-Vehicle Collisions
Teton County Commissioners raised concerns about increasing incidents, prompting WYDOT collaboration. The volunteer-led project responds to public calls for better visibility in high-risk areas.
