With the official start of the summer season marked by Memorial Day Weekend, the Bureau of Reclamation reports that the reservoir system in the Upper Snake River Basin is now at 83% of its capacity. Reservoir levels range from 100% at some of the smaller reservoirs in eastern Idaho to 60% filled at Palisades Reservoir near Alpine. Jackson Lake is currently 81% filled. Flows into Palisades from the Snake River peaked on May 17thand have been declining in the days since. Levels in the reservoirs typically peak in mid-June and are drawn down from early-July through September and October for irrigation.
