St. John’s Health (SJH), in collaboration with Gros Ventre OB/GYN (GVOG), is excited to welcome Dr. Timothy Bussert to their obstetrics and gynecology team starting January. This recruitment comes as a strategic move following the closure of two independent OB/GYN practices in Jackson last year. Dr. Bussert, who is currently associated with University OB/GYN Associates in Syracuse, New York, will relocate to Jackson with his partner, Maryellen, who will join Teton Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation.
The addition of Dr. Bussert is significant for SJH and GVOG as it ensures the continuation of essential labor and delivery services in the region, which have been under threat nationally due to rising costs and a shortage of healthcare providers. St. John’s Health CEO, Jeff Sollis, highlighted the commitment of the health system to maintaining these crucial services and expanding their offerings to include a full range of minimally invasive gynecological surgeries.
Dr. Bussert’s arrival also marks a broader effort by SJH and GVOG to bolster women’s health services locally. Over the past 18 months, the SJH provider team has enhanced services and coordinated care with GVOG, ensuring that specialized needs are met within the community.
Dr. Bussert will start seeing patients at his outpatient clinic located at 555 E. Broadway Suite #108 in the SJH Professional Office Building. Appointments can be made by calling Gros Ventre OB/GYN at (307) 734-1005.
