The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) announced that Nordic Program Director Will Wicherski has been named the 2025 U.S. Ski & Snowboard (USSS) Cross Country Development Coach of the Year. Recognized at the USSS Congress in Park City, Utah, Wicherski earned the award for his leadership in expanding the JHSC Nordic program and mentoring athletes like Lucas Wilmot and Lena Poduska, who swept all four races in the U18 category at the Junior National Ski Championships. Since joining JHSC in 2016 and becoming director in 2020, Wicherski has grown the program’s size and competitive strength, sending three athletes to Division 1 NCAA Nordic skiing in 2025.
Wicherski credited his coaching team, including Head Nordic Competition Coach Luna Wasson, and JHSC athletes for the program’s success, emphasizing its role in fostering a vibrant Nordic community in Jackson Hole. His contributions include leading the U16 National Camp, serving on the Junior Working Group, and heading glide operations at the Junior World/U23 Championships. A former national championship podium finisher, Wicherski has coached at international events like the U18 Scandinavian Cup.
