With the busy holiday travel season underway, weather conditions have been anything but favorable already this week. Icy roads made for treacherous conditions on Teton Pass and the canyons, with a host of accidents including an overturned car in the Snake River Canyon. Fortunately, the occupant of that car was not injured. WYDOT was forced to close about 200 miles of I-80 between Laramie and Rock Springs in both directions, and eastbound from Rock Springs to Evanston. Travel advisories lingering into today called for light to moderate snow in the I-80 corridor with strong winds, drifting snow and poor visibility. Further north, the advisory is calling for light snow and roads that are slick or slick in spots. Travelers are advised to check ahead before setting out over the next few days.
