The Bridger Teton Avalanche Center has issued a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for Jackson Hole, Yellowstone National Park, the Teton, Gros Ventre, Absaroka, Salt River, and Wyoming Ranges until 6AM Wednesday.
Avalanche danger, strong winds, heavy snowfall, and warming temperatures have created very dangerous avalanche conditions and increased the general avalanche danger to HIGH.
LARGE TO VERY LARGE AVALANCHES ARE LIKELY TO RELEASE NATURALLY ON A VARIETY OF ASPECTS. WIDESPREAD NATURAL AVALANCHE ACTIVITY IS POSSIBLE.
TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
Avalanches may run long distances and could run into mature forest, valley floors, and flat terrain.

Winter Storm Warning
A Series of Winter Storms will impact western Wyoming through Wednesday and a Winter Storm Warning has been issued. Significant snow will continue across much of Western Wyoming through at least through the day Wednesday.
Also, significant blowing and drifting of snow will occur in the mountains. Severely reduced visibilities will occur at times in snow and blowing snow.
The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5 PM Wednesday.
The forecast is for heavy snow with additional snow accumulations of 6 to 14
inches.
Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
The heaviest snowfall will occur this morning and will pick up again in intensity by
Wednesday afternoon.
Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning
or evening commute. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
