Wrong Turn Changes Outcome Of Dog Race

A wrong turn on the Driggs leg of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race may have cost its two leaders the overall race. Lina Streeper and Erick Laforce reportedly headed down a wrong trail and had to backtrack, costing them about 10 minutes on the leg and dropping them to 22ndand 23rd places on the leg. After the final leg of the race in Jackson, Anny Malo from Quebec, Canada was declared the winner of this year’s Pedigree® Stage Stop Race with a cumulative overall time of 14:34:02. At the awards Banquet, Malo pointed out that this was her first time at the IPSSSDR and thanked the organizers and support crews for making the event special for her. She went on, though in praise of the event itself, saying she wished such an event were also staged in Canada. Taking overall second place was Emilie Entrikin from Red Lodge, Montana with 15:13:23 followed very closely by Alix Crittenden from Bondurant, Wyoming with 15:13:34 just 11 seconds behind Entrikin.
