Wyoming Bean Commission to meet virtually

The Wyoming Bean Commission is scheduled to meet via Zoom teleconference on November 22, 2022.
The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m on Tuesday, November 22nd. The Commission will hear an update on their budget, talk about assessment rate changes, discuss “Seed Bean” insurance in Wyoming, the Nebraska Dry Bean Growers annual meeting, BeanCon23 sponsorship opportunities, and board membership. They will also elect a Chair and Vice-chair and cover any other business as needed. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and there will be an opportunity for the public during the meeting.
The Wyoming Bean Commission is made up of six members appointed by the Governor. Four members are growers, and two members are handlers with facilities located in Wyoming. One member must reside in Platte, Laramie, or Goshen County.  The Commission is funded by assessments collected on sales of dry beans and is part of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. The commission reports to the Governor and Joint Agriculture, State and Public Lands, and Water Resources interim committee. They also conduct or contract scientific research,  deliver information on dry edible beans.
The members of the Wyoming Bean Commission are Beau Fulton, of Park County, Jeffery Chapman, Jerrod Lind of Platte County, Pascual Aguilar of Big Horn County, Wayne Hort of Goshen County, Cortney Allen, and Dale Heggem from the Wyoming Department of Agriculture.
