The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is inviting the public to a meeting on February 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at their Jackson Regional Office, located at 420 N. Cache St., to discuss potential changes to fishing regulations on Jackson Lake.
Currently, fishing is not permitted on Jackson Lake from October 1 to October 31. The meeting will delve into the history of this regulation and explore whether it remains relevant today. Attendees will learn about:
- The background and rationale behind the existing fishing ban during October.
- Results from a recent angler survey aimed at understanding public fishing habits and opinions regarding the current regulations.
This public engagement is crucial for fisheries managers to gauge community interest in new management strategies for Jackson Lake. The feedback collected will influence the formulation of a new regulation proposal, which will be submitted for consideration to the Game and Fish Commission later in the year.
For those interested in participating or seeking more information, please contact the Jackson Regional Office at (307) 733-2321.
