The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) is inviting the public to participate in a community conversation focused on mule deer management and conservation. The meeting will be held on November 18 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thayne Community Center in Thayne, WY. This event provides an opportunity for residents to engage directly with local wildlife biologists and game wardens, ask questions, and share their thoughts on the future of mule deer in Wyoming.
Mule deer are an important species in the state, attracting interest from hunters, landowners, and wildlife enthusiasts alike. However, mule deer populations across the West have been declining for several decades. WGFD is working to address these challenges and values community input as part of their efforts to understand and conserve this species.
The meeting will cover a range of topics, from local and statewide challenges facing mule deer to specific issues affecting the Thayne region’s herds. Wyomingites who want to stay informed and involved in these discussions are encouraged to attend. For more information on mule deer management and additional community conversations across the state, visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s mule deer webpage.
