The 10th Annual Wyoming Snow & Avalanche Workshop (WYSAW) kicks off today, October 18, at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, WY. The event begins with Pro Day from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring presentations for professionals in snow safety, guiding, first responders, and anyone interested in advanced avalanche education. Attendees can check in inside the theater entrance on Cache Street, and the cost to attend Pro Day is $10.
The main event, Rec Day, takes place on Saturday, October 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the same location. Rec Day is open to the public, with presentations starting at 9 a.m. and wrapping up at 4:30 p.m. A raffle and after-party at Snake River Brewing will follow. Registration for Rec Day is $40 and includes access to both days. Scholarships are available for those needing financial assistance.
To avoid long lines, participants are encouraged to check in on Friday, pick up their swag bag, and purchase raffle tickets. There will be no virtual viewing option, but recorded presentations will be available on the WYSAW website in a few weeks.
