Yellowstone National Park’s winter season is gradually ending after this weekend. Park roads that serve commercially guided snowmobile and snow coach travel to iconic Yellowstone locations will be closing in stages beginning Sunday, when the East Entrance over Sylvan Pass and Mammoth to Norris will close at 9:00 pm. The roads from Norris to Madison Junction and Norris to Canyon will close at 9:00 pm on Tuesday. Travel to Canyon Village will be still be possible from the both the West and South Entrances via the West Thumb area through March eighth. Old Faithful will remain accessible from both the West and South Entrances until March 15th, when all remaining interior parks roads will close for the season at 9:00 pm. After the roads close to over-snow travel, plowing crews will clear them of snow so they can reopen to automobile travel in the spring. Yellowstone roads are slated to begin opening again to wheeled vehicles from the west and north entrances on April 17th. Teton Park Road is to reopen April 30th and the Moose Wilson Road will open mid-May as weather permits.
