Yellowstone National Park has become the latest in the region to raise its fire danger rating to “high.” The elevated fire rating comes on the heels of another new fire discovered on Dunraven Pass following a lightning storm Sunday.
The Camelian Fire is currently smoldering on 1/10 -acre in an area that burned during the 1988 fires and smoke may be visible from the road. The fire is being managed as a natural fire. While the fire danger is now considered high in the park, there are no fire restrictions currently in place.
Campfires are permitted only within established fire rings in campgrounds and designated campsites in Yellowstone National Park. Meanwhile, the fire danger is considered “high” throughout Teton County, Grand Teton National Park and Bridger-Teton National Forest.
