Select roads and services in Yellowstone National Park will open to the public for the season at 8:00 am Friday, weather permitting. Visitors should expect modified operations that are subject to change based on future conditions and public health guidance.
Specifically, the areas opening to the public include from the West Entrance to Old Faithful, from Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful by way of Norris, from Norris to Canyon Village and from the North Entrance to the Northeast Entrance by way of Mammoth Hot Springs.
The South Entrance is typically the last to open each year. Face masks are still required in all visitor facilities in Yellowstone National Park as well as on National Park Service-managed lands when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Initially, some National Park Service and partner services will be limited and/or modified, especially in early spring, so park visitors should be for the most part self-sufficient.
