Visitation to Yellowstone National Park over the long Memorial Day weekend fell off from the levels seen on the same weekend last year. Considering the weather those three days, the decline is probably not surprising, although high gasoline prices may also have factored in.
According to a news release from the park, parkwide vehicle entries over the Memorial Day weekend in 2022 showed a 34% decrease over the same weekend in 2021.
Broken down, Friday’s visitation was down 22% from 2021, Saturday declined by 31%, Sunday was 35% below the previous year, and Memorial Day itself was fully off by 47%
