If you thought the number was high for September visitation in Yellowstone National Park, you might think there was a mistake. There was. The number wasn’t high enough. The Park accidentally undercounted recreation-visit numbers from one entrance station. With this adjustment, the park hosted 882,078 recreational visits instead of 872,695 previously reported. This is the busiest September on record and the first time the park hosted over 4 million visits year-to-date. With the adjustment, the park has hosted 4,472,982 recreational visits so far in 2021.
