A Senate-authored bill, entitled the Second Amendment Protection Act, which would prohibit the enforcement of federal regulation of firearms by state officials in Wyoming passed the House Judiciary Committee yesterday. Teton county Representative Mike Yin says the bill is unnecessary in Wyoming.
“You know the second amendment isn’t under attack in Wyoming. All it does is codify a court case in a court test. If we did that for every court case, that would be all of our loss. So it’s a waste of space; the second amendment isn’t under attack in Wyoming.”
Consequently, Yin says he voted against the measure.
