The Community Foundation of Teton Valley18th Annual Tin Cup Challenge is underway, marking the start of a six-week giving period that runs through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025. This community-wide fundraiser, one of the nation’s most innovative, invites residents of Teton County, Idaho, and Alta, Wyoming, to support local nonprofits that strengthen the region’s social, environmental, and cultural fabric. Since its inception in 2007, the Tin Cup Challenge has raised over $26.9 million for Teton Valley nonprofits, with last year’s event generating a record-breaking $3.37 million.
During the giving period, donations to participating nonprofits are partially matched by the Community Foundation’s Challenger Fund, funded by businesses and individuals contributing $1,500 or more. This matching grant, applied to the first $25,000 raised by each nonprofit, amplifies the impact of every gift, supporting organizations that provide essential services like education, health care, environmental conservation, and arts programs. Donors can contribute online at tincupchallenge.org, by check with an official donor form, or in person at the Community Foundation’s booth at the Driggs Farmers Market on Fridays, where they can also register for the Event Day run and pick up a free Tin Cup T-shirt.
The Tin Cup Challenge culminates on Event Day, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Driggs City Park from 9:00 a.m. to noon, featuring a competitive 10K/5K, a fun run/walk, nonprofit booths, and family-friendly activities. The event celebrates Teton Valley’s spirit of generosity, with one in four households typically participating. Eligible nonprofits, which must be based in Teton County, Idaho, or Alta, Wyoming, benefit from 100% of designated gifts plus the partial match, ensuring funds stay local and address critical community needs.
