Yellowstone National Park’s Northeast Entrance will open tomorrow.
A short section of road in Lamar Canyon will remain a paved, single lane road through the winter season with a temporary stop light for traffic control. Delays will be minimal.
Drivers should use caution and watch for crews and heavy equipment as repair efforts will continue as weather permits.
There will be no restrictions on the Northeast Entrance Road which has been closed since the historic flooding in June which caused significant damage to approximately five sections of the road. As of tomorrow, 99% of the park’s roads are open.
Paving is currently being completed over the entire 4-mile-long Old Gardiner Road and over 5,000 feet of guardrail is being installed. This road is closed until November 1st.
The road from Tower Junction to Canyon Junction over Dunraven Pass will close October 31st unless snow closes it sooner.
On November 1st, all remaining roads Yellowstone roads will be closed.
The Chief Joseph Scenic Byway is usually open until early November.
