Wyoming Business Hall of Fame Honors Richard Scarlett

Former CEO of Jackson State Bank and WyoTech’s President are set to make history.

The Wyoming Business Hall of Fame: A Tradition of Excellence

Created in 2013, the Wyoming Business Hall of Fame stands as a testament to those whose commitment, innovation, and ethics have made lasting impacts on Wyoming’s business community. Jointly driven by the Daniels Fund, the University of Wyoming College of Business, the Wyoming Business Council, and the Wyoming Business Alliance/Wyoming Heritage Foundation, this award honors both legacy and emerging leaders.

Governor Mark Gordon praised the inductees, reflecting on their dedication to Wyoming. Commendations from various industry leaders echo the sentiment, including remarks from Cindy DeLancey and Kent Noble.

Spotlight on Inductees: From Banking to Education

Legacy – W. Richard Scarlett III: W. Richard Scarlett, affectionately known as Dick, stands as an emblem of dedication. A former Army man and a UW alumnus, Scarlett rose through the ranks to become the CEO of United Bancorporation of Wyoming. He is remembered for his unwavering integrity and dedication to community service.

Contemporary – Jim Mathis: From a WyoTech graduate to its President, Jim Mathis’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Under his leadership, WyoTech experienced phenomenal growth, showing his commitment to education and the Wyoming business community.

Legislators of the Year: A Tribute to Commitment

Senate Legislator of the Year – Sen. Ogden Driskill: Senate President Ogden Driskill’s accomplishments span various fields. From career tech education and forest management to gaming legislation, Driskill’s contribution to Wyoming is immeasurable.

House of Representatives Legislator of the Year – Rep. Barry Crago: Known as the “Country Lawyer,” Representative Barry Crago’s efforts for business-friendly reforms and his commitment to the state and its people have been unparalleled.

Both legislators have been instrumental in fostering a favorable business environment in Wyoming, receiving accolades from the Wyoming Business Alliance and other industry leaders.
