Yellowstone National Park Visitors Increase

In June 2023, Yellowstone National Park experienced a remarkable 61% increase in recreational visits compared to the previous year’s historic flood month. 

  • June 2023 recorded 847,864 recreational visits, a 61% increase from June 2022.
  • Year-to-date visitation in 2023 reached 1,493,510, up 19% from 2022.
  • The park witnessed a 10% increase in year-to-date visits from 2019.
  • Yellowstone’s popularity continues to grow, attracting visitors in unprecedented numbers.

Rising Visitor Numbers Signal a Thriving Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park has been bustling with activity in 2023, with June visitor numbers soaring to 847,864 — a 61% surge from the same month in 2022, which was significantly impacted by a historic flood. Year-to-date visitation figures reflect an impressive 19% increase from 2022 and a remarkable 10% rise compared to 2019.
