Heavy Traffic Predicted at Jackson Hole Airport

airport ticketing

Jackson Hole Airport is anticipating its busiest winter season ever having 11 non-stop flights to and from the valley this winter season. Due to the popularity of the area, Airport Manager Ray Bishop says the airport will be extremely busy and the lobby will fill up fast. Complicating matters in front of the airport this winter, he says, is construction currently under way to eventually revamp the baggage claim area.  Bishop says for now, the disruptions are outside the building and should not disrupt the traveling public beyond the parking lot. The work will move inside in March when the current baggage handling system will be demolished and the new facility built in its place.  For now, Bishop recommends that all passengers arrive at the airport at least two and a half hours prior to departure – especially after December 15th – in order to have ample time to negotiate the construction, check-in, return rental cars, get through security and find their gates. Flights this winter include non-stop service to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York/JFK, Newark, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle.  Jackson Hole Airport is the only commercial airport located inside a National Park.
