Yellowstone Wants Wyoming To Maintain Beartooth

Beartooth

Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk has asked Governor Matt Mead to have the state take ownership of a stretch of the Beartooth Highway that is currently being maintained by the park.  Wenk was in Cheyenne last week to ask Mead to consider having the state pay to maintain about 35 miles of the highway where maintenance has been in question since the road was completed in 1936.  Wenk explained to the governor and the Wyoming Highway Commission that with the recently reduced budget, continued maintenance of the road is a burden.  Yellowstone Spokesman Al Nash says reception to Wenk’s request was cordial, but no immediate response was given to the request.

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
