The Jackson Hole High School Speech & Debate team earned a first-place sweepstakes trophy this past weekend at the Evanston Invitational held in Evanston Friday and Saturday. The Jackson team earned 90 sweepstakes points with Riverton following behind in second with 56 points. Seven schools attended the meet where JHHS had 18 individual top placings. Senior and team captain, Warren Levy led the way with his double championships in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. Extemporaneous Speaking proved to be a powerhouse event for the Jackson team as junior Preston Harmon placed second. Harmon partnered with junior Josh Hansen to come in second place Public Forum Debate. Lily Briggs went on to place second in Congressional Debate. Maleah Tuttle brought home first place in Impromptu Speaking and Will Aepli reached the semifinal round of the event. The team travels to Natrona County Casper this weekend to compete in the largest tournament of the regular season
