The acquittal of President Trump in the Senate yesterday has brought to an end the impeachment proceedings. Now says Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi, it’s time Congress got back to the business of running a country.
“Too often it feels like our nation is only becoming more divided, more hostile. I do not believe that our country will ever be able to successfully tackle our looming problems if we continue down this road. As we move forward from this chapter in our nation’s history, I hope that we will focus more on our shared goals that can help our nation, and not the issues that drive us apart.” Enzi said.
Enzi recalls that he has been involved in two presidential impeachment trials over his time in office – one during his first term and now one during his last. With the end of this year, Enzi will be retiring from the office he has held since 1991.
