The Festival will go on! The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival will take place September 9-20th, 2020 with safety measures in place and new virtual participation. Live, in-person events like Western Visions Jewelry Show, Takin’ It To The Streets, and the Sunday Art Brunch look to reform with increased safety for limited guests, while a number of events will add online participation to bring the festival into homes across the nation, including the QuickDraw auction that will take place electronically for the first time in the festival’s history.
The QuickDraw and Auction, that has become one of the most anticipated art events of the year, will take place Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. − Jackson’s best will create masterpieces in 90 minutes, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., The artists will be stationed in galleries and some public spaces in Jackson while spectators can watch live in location or from the first-ever live stream on The Chamber’s website. The creations will be immediately auctioned at 10:30 a.m. MST through BidSquare, where buyers locally and from around the world can bid in an online forum. The featured piece, Thomas Blackshear’s Hunter’s Watch will be auctioned approximately hallway through the Auction.
“We are thrilled at the opportunity for a virtual QuickDraw Auction, allowing people to participate in this iconic event from the safety and comfort of their own homes if they prefer,” shares Britney Magleby, Event Coordinator at the Jackson Hole Chamber.
Additional events during this year’s Fall Arts Festival that will allow for online or in-person participation are plenty. Local galleries, The National Museum of Wildlife Art, The Jackson Hole Art Association, and other local event producers look to carry on the legacy of Fall Arts Festival with all the famed events, just in a different capacity.
