Teton County: Turn out the (Christmas) lights, the party’s over

Christmas cheer is officially over next week at least as far as outdoor holiday lights is concerned.

Teton County is reminding the public that all outdoor decorative lighting, including holiday string lighting, must be turned off by Tuesday, January 10th.

String lighting on buildings, signage,  and trees may only be turned on from November 15th to January 10^th.

In 2022, the county passed new rules aimed at making outdoor lighting more dark sky friendly.

The recent rule changes make Teton County eligible for an International Dark Sky Community designation. Teton County could become the first county in the world to receive such a label
