If you’re anything like me, you might be swerving on the roads lately to try to avoid the massive potholes that seem to be almost everywhere. However, these potholes are simply a result of the huge winter Jackson has has this year. Constant snowplowing has made the problem of potholes much worse than usual, along with freeze-thaw cycles happening over and over.
The Public Works department says they have been working hard to clear the roads after these storms, but with limited staff, it can take days for the roads to start looking better.
For the more central roads like the highways, the Wyoming Department of Transportation has been working to fill potholes everytime the roads are dry. While the weather is still unpredictable, road services have to use temporary fixes, like cold patch, that are susceptible to moisture and often break open again. More permanent fixes will likely only be able to happen in mid-April. T
