Electric Buses: A Sustainable Transit Solution

Teton Village’s Improvement and Service District has successfully secured $945,179 to buy four zero-emission battery-electric buses, along with charging equipment. This funding came from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which is spending nearly $1.7 billion in transit projects across 46 states. The primary goal of this initiative is to replace diesel buses in Teton Village with sustainable and eco-friendly electric alternatives.

Enhanced Transit Service for Teton Village

These new electric buses will create a significant improvement in reliability for the commuters in Teton Village. Reduced maintenance costs and good air quality in the southern gateway to Grand Teton National Park, should also result. This green approach also showcase the district’s commitment to sustainable tourism.

Moving Towards a Greener Future with Electric Buses

The electric buses are a crucial step towards their goal of transitioning their bus fleet to 100% electric by 2030. The move aligns with the district’s commitment to protecting the environment, wildlife, and the local community. The district’s commitment to reducing emissions and enhancing transit services sets a positive example for other communities.
