While COVID restrictions will certainly curtail office parties and similar seasonal celebrations, that won’t stop people from celebrating at home. Typically, there is a noticeable increase in driving under the influence through the holiday period, and troopers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol and Idaho State Police are joining their partner law enforcement agencies throughout the area in supporting the effort to remove DUI drivers from Idaho roadways to keep families whole during this holiday season. Idaho State Police Trooper Tauna Davis says, “Impaired driving ends lives, changes lives, and leaves families broken. That’s something we see first-hand as Troopers.” Davis says this holiday season, the Idaho State Police will be working overtime so more families can continue to enjoy their holidays together. That means extra patrols on the highways watching for the signs of impaired driving.
