The Jackson Town Council will again consider increasing the salaries of the Mayor and Councilmembers.
The proposal will be on the agenda for a special Town Council meeting on Monday where it will be presented for the second of three hearings before possible approval.
If passed, the wage for Jackson’s Mayor would increase to 44,000 dollars. For Town Councilors the annual pay would total 36000. Elected officials also receive health and other benefits from the Town of Jackson. Current pay for the mayoral seat is 41700 dollars and councilors make 34,000.
The new wages would only be in effect for those who are sworn into office after January 1, 2023.
