Hailey Morton Levinson announced in a press release Monday that she will run for mayor of the Town of Jackson in the upcoming election. Raised in Jackson, Morton Levinson has served the last seven years with a level-headed, calm, and open-minded approach to the everyday business of council as well as the larger issues facing our community. “I pride myself on seeking out different opinions and making informed decisions. I am running for mayor to represent our working families. I know what it’s like to work hard, live paycheck to paycheck, and worry about childcare and housing. Our voice matters and it’s the community that makes Jackson the place we know and love.”
Morton Levinson has served as vice mayor under two mayors and most recently since 2019. She has worked with fellow elected officials and the community to pass major initiatives including the Workforce Housing Plan and Supply Plan, Integrated Transportation Plan, and updates to the Land Development Regulations. Hailey is pushing new initiatives in childcare, housing and transportation goals. Constantly honing her leadership skills, Morton Levinson serves on the Board for the Wyoming Association of Municipalities, is a graduate of Leadership Wyoming, holds an MBA from University of Wyoming and BS from Georgetown University. Additionally, she runs Inn on the Creek with her husband while raising their family in her hometown.
Also on Monday, Mayor Pete Muldoon announced his candidacy for a Town Council seat. Muldoon was elected 4 years ago and was Jackson’s first 4-year term mayor. Prior to that election, the mayor’s term in Jackson was two years.
While candidates can announce their intentions to seek office, they will have to file paperwork to make their campaigns official. That filing period opens later this spring.
The primary election in Teton County and the Town of Jackson is in August with the general election is in November.
