Travelers on High School Road had another obstacle to look out for on Wednesday as a crowd of long-lease photographers and onlookers crowded near the intersection at Broadway Avenue.
The object of curiosity was a mountain lion who was protecting a deer carcass on the side of High School Butte.
Emerging from tree cover, the cat sporadically emerged to discourage magpies from the deer.
Wyoming Game and Fish were notified to assess the situation.
