With spring weather beginning to make its appearance in Jackson and the snow starting to diminish, the Town of Jackson is again allowing businesses to apply for “Parklets” on publicly owned streets.
A parklet is a sidewalk extension that provides more space and amenities for people using the street. Usually, parklets are installed on parking lanes and use several parking spaces. Parklets typically extend out from the sidewalk at the level of the sidewalk to the width of the adjacent parking space.
Last year the Jackson Town Council approved the permitting of parklets in town both on public and private land and the response was extremely positive from both business owners and the members of the public.
