After a morning earthquake, the Salt Lake City International Airport, which closed after the tremor, is operational again. After determining the building was structurally sound, a security sweep of the facility was completed and a water line on concourse D damaged in this morning’s earthquake was repaired, the public was again allowed back in. Operations at the airport had been suspended after the area was rocked shortly after 7:00 this morning by a magnitude 5.7 earthquake and the terminal and the tower were evacuated. During the closure time, no flights came or departed from the airport. Buildings in downtown Salt Lake City also reportedly suffered minor to moderate damage.
