Well, public users of Teton County’s GIS service were bracing for the worst but got a reprieve over the weekend.
After announcing last week that the public mapping service would go offline yesterday, the county announced that the service would remain available to users as they transition to a new GIS platform.
Lawsuit Threatened
Due to a threat of litigation regarding information contained within the GIS, the contract to provide data management and support was terminated by the contractor.
But on Saturday the county released a notice saying that an agreement with the contractor has been reached which will allow the site to remain available to the public until the County transitions to a new platform later this year.
