The Town of Jackson and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling (ISWR) are hosting their annual Fall Clean-Up events at the end of October and early November. These events provide residents with free and convenient options to dispose of yard waste before winter sets in.
The Fall Clean-Up includes a one-day yard waste collection event at the Rodeo Grounds on Friday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents can drop off leaves, grass, pumpkins, and branches at the event. It’s important to note that curbside pickup is not available, so materials must be brought to the Rodeo Grounds in bags or loose form, but not in trash or dog waste. This event is for residential yard waste only.
For residents outside town limits, the Trash Transfer Station will accept up to 500 pounds of yard waste per household for free from October 28 to November 2. The Trash Transfer Station hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Yard waste should be emptied into designated piles at the station.
In addition, free compostable bags will be available starting October 18 at Jackson Town Hall, the Public Works Office, and the Recycling Center. Using compostable bags is not required, but they help ensure waste contributes to local composting efforts.
Pumpkin disposal is also offered at no charge at several locations, including the Rodeo Grounds, Recycling Center, and Trash Transfer Station. Only clean pumpkins without decorations or candles are accepted for composting.
For those interested in burning yard waste, Fall Burn Week is scheduled from October 28 to November 3. Residents must contact dispatch at (307) 733-2331 before burning and are reminded to only burn dry grass, leaves, twigs, small branches, and clean wood.
The Town and County appreciate the support of local waste management companies and public works crews who help make this event possible.
