Yellowstone National Park hosted 914,612 recreation visits in June 2024, an 8% increase from June 2023, which had 847,864 visits. However, this June’s visitation showed a 3% decrease compared to June 2021, which had 938,845 visits.
So far in 2024, the park has seen a total of 1,633,739 recreation visits. This represents a 9% increase from the same period in 2023, which had 1,492,843 visits, and a 3% increase from 2021, which had 1,587,998 visits.

 - 2022: 1,258,834 (The park was closed from June 13 to June 21 due to a historic flood event. Three entrances reopened on June 22.)

 - 2020: 719,054 (The park was closed from March 24 to May 17 due to COVID-19. Two entrances reopened on May 18 and the remaining three on June 1.)
 - 2019: 1,358,629
 
Summer is the busiest season in Yellowstone, with millions of visitors expected in June, July, and August. If you plan to visit the park this summer, it is essential to plan ahead and take the Yellowstone Pledge to protect yourself and the park.
