Wolves have apparently made their way into northern Colorado now. The Denver Post is reporting that wildlife officials have discovered evidence of a pack of wolves living in northwestern Colorado after hunters reported seeing a suspected pack there, and provided a video shot in October of two wolves shown near the Wyoming/Utah border. Local residents have also reported finding a scavenged elk carcass. Coincidentally, the sightings were reported only days after state election officials placed a measure to reintroduce wolves on this year’s ballot. That idea however is opposed by state wildlife officials in Colorado, and leaders in 23 Colorado counties also are against the idea.
