The joint Parks & Recreation Department for the Town of Jackson and Teton County have completed the SPET-funded Snow King Apartments and Park Shop across from the fairgrounds. This innovate building includes two floors of employee housing for government workers and two floors of storage and maintenance for snowplows and other park maintenance machinery. The two upper floors have 26 units including 9 one-bedrooms and 17 studios. All one-bedroom units include washers, dryers, and dishwashers, and there is one 710 square foot unit with ADA furnishings. The studio units, anticipated to house START Bus drivers in the winter and other seasonal employees in the summer, are furnished and include shared access to a kitchen, lounge, and laundry. All the units were designed with “livability” in-mind, catering to ways that people in our community live, work, and recreate. The Park Maintenance and Storage takes up the first floor and basement, and will house Park administration offices, a staff locker room, garage equipment, and tool storage.
