Yellowstone is struggling to retain workers

Although Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful places you could hope to work, the park is struggling to recruit and retain workers.  

• With more than 4 million tourists visiting the park each summer, Yellowstone is in need of more workers to deal with this enormous influx of visitors. 
• Specific Yellowstone Park jobs that are under stress in the park include law enforcement, road maintenance, and medical systems.

For people who love the outdoors and wildlife, a job in the park is seemingly as good as it gets. However, there are issues in the park that can dissuade people from joining the YNP workforce. For example, there has been an increase in tourist-wildlife incidents this year that cause real headaches for the staff of Yellowstone. Irresponsible visitors have been seen taunting and harassing wildlife, which is an enormous danger to both the animals and the people involved. Officials in the park urge visitors to observe wildlife regulations and learn about the dangers of things like animals and hot springs before they start their adventures.
